Gourmet Tour Zagreb - Istria
Day 01 NOVIGRAD
Arrive to
Rijeka/Trieste airport. Meet and greet followed by private transfer to the hotel. Gourmet Dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02 MOMJAN – GROZNJAN – BRTONIGLA
Breakfast at the hotel.
Wine & olive oil tour through northern Istria. Wine tasting in one of many local vineyards where you can taste high quality
Malvazija Istarska, Teran and Momjan Muscat followed by olive
oil degustation and homemade grappa. Wine degustation can take place in an old canteen carved into the living rock or in a modern tasting room, you will be introduced with the various phases of the winemaking process and will have the opportunity of a delightful walk through the vineyard rows. Tour continues to a small hill-top town of
Groznjan for lunch in a local restaurant followed by a short walking tour of this ancient place. In Groznjan, you can attend frequent concerts of classical music, a jazz festival, the painting manifestation
Ex Tempore, and numerous exhibitions at the municipal gallery and twenty private galleries and studios. Just a few miles away, hidden between hills and forests, you will find a small village of
Oprtalj, the home of one of the best olive oil producers in the area. Presentation of olives and olive products followed by degustation. Gourmet dinner in a local restaurant. Return to Novigrad. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 03 ROVINJ
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visit Rovinj in the morning, a typical example of a town of the Mediterranean type placed on a small cape. Stroll through it’s narrow and picturesque streets, climb to the top of the cape and award your soul with breathtaking view over the town and open sea before an exquisite
sea-food lunch in a local restaurant. Return to the hotel for a
cookery lesson of traditional dishes followed by your own prepared gourmet dinner. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 04 VODNJAN – KRUNCICI – LIVADE
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning free.
Wine & truffle tasting tour. Departure for
Vodnjan, a medieval town with the famous baroque
church of St. Blase. Just a few road curves away domestic Istrian products will be served for lunch in the rustic ambience of a
family run estate’s dining room. In the afternoon visit another internationally awarded Istrian wine producer in the
village of Kruncici for wine tasting. Depart for
Livade, the truffle kingdom of Istria for a gourmet dinner. Return to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 05 NOVIGRAD – OPATIJA – ZAGREB
Breakfast at hotel. Morning free. Transfer to
Zagreb with en-route stop in Opatija for a
sea-food lunch. Upon arrival and after the check in walking guided visit of Zagreb.
Gourmet dinner will be served at a lovely local restaurant after the visit. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 06 ZAGREB
Breakfast at the hotel. Wine tour through
Jaska Hills wine road where you will enjoy a short presentation of the best
Croatian champagne producer and tasting session. Winegrowers lunch will be served at a local property before departure to Zagreb airport for your outbound flight.
